The people of the village of Zagora on the slopes of Mount Pelion, historically based their survival on farming, animal husbandry and trade. In 1916, they founded the Agricultural Cooperative of Zagora which prospered through the years, the first Agricultural Cooperative in Greece to celebrate a century of continuous operation. The film presents farmers of the past and present, the organization and evolution of a local community which develops cooperatively over the last 100 years and passes on this tradition from generation to generation. It describes the historical local progress and the upheavals of the 20th century with their impacts on the Cooperative, confirming the success of a local agricultural social economy applying laissez faire rules in its development. The film further shows the members appreciation of the Cooperative as their common home.
