Everyone in Kurdistan has a story to tell, and its not always a happy one, but whether an ice cream seller in the street or a Syrian refugee, a government leader or a genocide survivor, this is a film about survival, about the will of a nation and the dreams of an entire people, told by the people themselves. Now more than ever they need the world to know this story as they embark on an uncertain road in the face of countless problems and surrounded by powerful neighbours but very few friends. As the region around them goes up in flames and they are left reeling from years of war, it is a story of hope in the face of an uncertain future. Distressing and thought provoking, and revealing the horror the Kurds endured during decades of murderous subjugation, including emotional interviews and distressing footage, this is not a film for the faint of heart, but this compelling and sometimes very disturbing story is also one of hope and happiness.
