Mercado de Lagrimas is a story narrated by the director/writer, He invites us into his psyche where he has created an imaginary movie that takes place in the 1940s in Mexico City, in his alternate world, he is a super hero and a dandy, he rescues his muse, Maria Felix, who has been kidnapped after enjoying an evening with her friends, among them Salvador Dali, Frida Kahlo, Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, what happens next is an irony and a dramatic ending. Camp, surrealism, high fashion, and a heavy dose of mexican soap opera.
