Dear Mama (2017)

The world is currently faced with an overwhelming amount of inequality and hardship. We are in one of this countries hardest times and this is when stories of prevailing individuals need to be told. Olivia, a young African American from Chicago, has aspirations to reach the stars and view the beautiful planet she calls home. We follow that dream grow and flourish as she gets older. Olivia faces a world where she is judged before she even opens her mouth. This combined with a mother who is too afraid of what the world will do to her makes it difficult. However, Olivia refuses for people to decide what she can or cannot do and in turn gives her mother a change of heart. That fire carries her forward to achieve that dream even with the odds stacked high against her.
