Goa, located on the west coast of India, was a Portuguese colony for over 400 years which gives it's culture an unique blend of Hindu and Christian influences. The culture of Goa which is deeply connected with its paddy fields comes from the economic relationship man has with the land. This agrarian relationship has been alive for thousands of years. Today this economic activity is facing many challenges and the culture too could change as land use patterns are modified.
