'Gears, Grease and Guitars' presents the history of hot rodding, drag racing and rock and roll- all from the perspective of one American city: Denver, Colorado. Interviews from those who 'were there' back in the 40s,50s, and 60s shed light on how these American institutions went hand in hand through our collective consciousness. Rare photos, music, film footage and other materials help tell this fascinating story. Although this is the story of one American city, it mirrors what was happening in cities across the country at that time- the cars, the clubs, the music producers and their climbing stars, the drag strips (and how they emerged), the hang outs, and the cruising strips. Its all here in this fun romp through time. Originally released in 2008, Director Mike Olafson now is re-releasing it and looking to get it into film festivals around the country. It has gained a true cult following in Colorado and has gained attention of others around the world.
