A bookshop in Calcutta's park street. Executive Bipin chowdhury noses around for his favorite diet of mystery fiction. Flipping through titles, he notices a man's fixed stare on him. 'Don't you recognize me, Mr. Bipin chowdhury ? ' The man asks. 'No, I don't,' replies Bipin curtly. The stranger is amazed- 'It was I who arranged for your sight-seeing trips in Ranchi October '95, the evening tea sessions with your friend, Dinesh. Your aversion for mental hospitals, because they reminded you of your demented brother. Remember?' 'I was in Kanpur during that period, and I've never been to Ranchi,' rebuts Bipin brusquely, brushing past the intrusive man. Yet, two friends reaffirm the '95 Ranchi vacation. Dinesh and the unemployed Chuni. Terrified that he is developing his brother's streak of lunacy, Bipin visits Ranchi to ragain his memory. Instead, he returns defeated and convinced of a mental disorder. Out of the blue, the resourceless Chuni arrives with a miraculous antidote, puzzling Bipin more than his mystery novels.
