Boxcar Bertha (1972)

Set during the Great Depression in the American South, Boxcar Bertha Thompson, orphaned after her father's death, becomes a transient, riding the rails and encountering a cast of outcasts. Among them are Big Bill Shelly, a fiery union organizer; Rake Brown, a sly gambler; and Von Morton, her father’s former mechanic. Together, they inadvertently turn to crime, robbing trains and banks while clashing with a ruthless railroad tycoon and his enforcers.
