India Song (1975)

Set in India during the 1930s, the film follows the story of Anne-Marie who is married to the french ambassador to India. She feels that her life has become tedious and has several affairs with her lovers of which her husband is aware. They both live in a world that shows signs of disintegration and decadence, to which consequences soon follow. Directed by Marguerite Duras, the movie was nominated for a César Award and was shown at the Cannes Film Festival in 1975.
