Fliers of the Open Skies (1977)

Poetic parable of children in war and their sacrifice. In a small village high in the rocks coming is Italian occupiers. Little Antiand his friends, his small flock of birds represent all the world, and is wrapped up in horror when Italian troops from pure whim starts killing his winged friends. Another problem is hungry villagers, which birds are the preferred snack. Arrival wounded partisans put Antu on test.
