Three sex scenes and one implied outdoor sex scene: The first is of the samurai's wife and the student lover; the second is the husband and wife, and the third is the wife with the bachelor friend. The wife and bachelor also meet at the reception, go into the backyard and it is implied they have sex there in the dark while her husband is talking business inside. Nudity is limited to bare breasts, bare chest and a view of a man's buttocks.

A small erotic ivory carving, a netsuke, is seen, depicting a couple copulating.
