Kiss of the Spider Woman (1985)

In a brazilian prison during the military dictatorship, two opposing men share the same cell. Luis Molina is there for trying to seduce a minor and Valentin Arregui is a leftist political prisoner. They each deal with imprisonment in different ways, but Molina resorts to his imagination by evoking romantic movies. Based on the novel by writer Manuel Puig, this intriguing political drama that won William Hurt an Oscar does not lose its visual and discursive power in spite of the years.
