Powwow Highway (1988)

Cheerful Philbert embarks on a spiritual quest by bartering for a car in Lame Deer (Montana). Jaded activist Buddy asks for a ride to Santa Fe, New Mexico to help his sister Bonnie, who's been arrested on trumped up charges. The trip weaving reality and vision detours with vignettes of Native realities and ends with a collision of cultures, corporate, and federal interests. Based on the David Seals book.
