Home Alone (1990)

In this classic Christmas comedy, Kevin is an 8-year-old boy who defends his home from two burglars in the middle of Christmas Eve after his family goes on a trip and leaves him alone due to an oversight. But the burglars don't count on Kevin's trickery and liveliness, and he won't let them scare him off that easily. Directed by Chris Columbus and written by John Hughes, it launched Macaulay Culkin to fame and became the highest-grossing comedy in history for a long time, occupying a special place in popular culture and spawning several sequels.
