Apple Trees (1992)

The GDR citizens Lena and Heinz get to know each other against the romantic backdrop of the Havelland apple growing region - and fall in love with each other. However, their relationship is put to the test by GPG chairman Sienke: not only does he start an affair with Lena, he is also to blame for Heinz 'spies for the Stasi. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, Sienke again threatens to destroy the future of fruit growers, albeit in a different way: he has sold his shares in the communal lands as building land, which means that the livelihood of the apple growers is lost.
