Poison (1991)

The film interweaves three stories that openly explore homosexuality about marginalized people facing various forms of interpersonal and social violence. “Hero” deals with a boy's bond with his father; ‘Terror’ a science fiction story about an experiment linked to human sexuality; and ‘Homo’ narrates the reunion of two men in a prison. Inspired by the novels of Jean Genet, Poison, Todd Haynes' first feature film, marked the beginning of a new wave of queer cinema.
