Black Circle Boys (1997)

We see a girl in and out a swimming pool; she is wearing a bikini and shorts. She kisses her boyfriend, who touches her back, and she unties her bikini top (we do not see anything) as they keep kissing; she remarks that no one is around, and it is implied they have sex.

In a club scene, we see a man surrounded by provocative women being kissed by one of them.

The main characters (1 guy in particular) act violently throughout the whole movie, threatening other people both verbally, physically, and psychologically. There are 2 murders and 1 instance of animal killing. Some scenes are crude and blood is seen at times.

A guy kidnaps a kitten and kills him for a satanic ritual. We see him swinging the cat fastly above his head and slamming it into a tree (offscreen). He then smears the cat's blood on his friends' mouths.

We see some animal fetuses in jars in a biology classroom, as well as many frogs on the tables (they are implied to be about to be dissectioned by the students, but are shown still intact). A student stabs his assigned frog with a scalpel, waves it around and plays with it; he then bites its head, tears it off, keeps it in his mouth for a while, and spits it on the ground. Another student later talks about it with his parents: he says "biology was cool" and "a guy bit a frog's head right off", and mentions they dissected frogs and stimulated their muscles to make them twitch.

A boy is killed by a young man. The latter cuts his arm, then stabs him in the neck, face and chest a few times (we do not see it in detail, but blood is seen spurting from the wounds, and the boy's face and upper body are covered in blood). He then hits him twice with a large branch. We see the dead boy's body lying on the ground.

A guy kills another man. We do not see anything (the scene is dark and at a distance), only the killer moving his arm towards the other man's neck; the latter falls down and is implied to die, likely from having his throat slashed by a cutter.

A group of young men and women cut themselves in a ritual to offer blood to their "Father" (Satan); a guy cuts his palm with a cutter, another guy cuts his fingertip with a cutter, and the others are implied to do the same (they cut themselves offscreen). We see blood dripping on a rock. A guy collects it with the cutter then smears it on his abdomen with his fingers, making a cross form out of it.

A guy attacks another guy from behind and holds a cutter to his face, while keeping his arm tight around his neck. The attacker says "I'm gonna kill you so we can be together forever, all of us" (them and the other 2 guys he murdered). After a long while the guy who's being held tries to break free; the two guys fight and hold each other's necks, then one of them hits the other, breaking his nose, and kicks him in the face (we see his bloody face).

An old man points his rifle to a guy who invaded his property. The guy aggressively insults him, and provokes the old man to shoot him. He takes the rifle in his hand and points it right at his mouth, asking the old man to shoot; he is terrorized and does not do it, and the guy threathens him with a menacing "you're fucking dead". Later he remarks with his friends "that fucker is gonna pay for that shit, big time".

A guy beats down an old man with a baseball bat (the hitting is mostly offscren). He also gets kicked and punched by 2 other guys.

A singer kicks a guy in the chest. The guy reacts by punching him; he falls on the ground, and another man comes in and kicks the singer. Many people start punching each other.

We see brief glimpses of a young man cutting another man's arm with a cutter, making a pentacle. Blood drips from the cuts.

A man attacks a guy from behind and holds him tight, threatening him.

3 amused guys attack a boy with water shotguns. The scene is rather menacing and not funny from the boy's point of view, who is treated as a servant by another member of the group (we heard the latter saying so).

A boy is forced to dig a grave and to stay in it by 3 young men; one of them laughs hard and another throws soil on the boy using a shovel while insulting him.

Satanism is the main aspect of this movie's story, which centers on a group of young men (the "Black Circle Boys" of the title), who are a satanic cult. In the circle, some members have a membership tattoo and proudly show it to others. They cut each other and kill animals. They also vandalize properties with pentacles, crosses, and 666 drawings. The language is quite strong throughout. A few homoerotic undertones.

"Fuck" and its derivatives are used a lot, about 80 times. Other profanities heard are: "Shit", "Bullshit", "Motherfucker", "Asshole", "Pussy", "Prick", "Suck", "Fart", "Hell", "Kickass".

A guy gives his teacher the middle finger (barely seen).

A guy tells an old man "suck me", "I'll take you straight to hell", "I'll shut that fucking thing right up your ass" (referring to a rifle), and "I'll make you suck my cock in hell".

A group of people is seen performing a satanic ritual in which they offer blood to their "Father". A guy says a short prayer in ode of Satan and smears a cross form on his body out of their blood. They are also briefly seen drawing upside-down crosses on their clothes and notebooks, and cutting another group's member on the arms with a cutter, making a pentacle.

A guy kills a kitten to use its blood in a satanic ritual.

A guy says to his friend that everything they do they do it for him (referring to Satan, whom he calls Father).

A guy says his father is not is his real father, Satan is.

Two guys say "I love the Father" (meaning I love Satan) many times.

A man behaves quite sexually towards a guy in all the scenes he appears in.

This movie is filled by teenage drug and alcohol use. There is extremely frequent (said and/or shown) use of alcohol, various amphetamines, cocaine, mescaline, crystal methadone, and other drugs. No heroin injection and no overdoses. Beer drinking and cigarette smoking are often pictured.

4 young men invade a house while no one is at home, find some drugs and use them. They are seen snorting cocaine and drinking whisky. Afterwards they drive away (thus they are driving under the effects of drugs and alcohol) to another place, where they meet a man and bring him drugs (we see a guy holding a bag of pills).

A guy says "I can't take all this stuff home man" (referring to drugs - there is a bag full of pills on the ground). He asks his friends if they can hide it at their places and they say no. He hides the bag in a tree.

A smoking guy lights a cigarette to a girl and she smokes it. The same girl is seen smoking once or twice more later on.

A girl mentions how a guy was taken to the hospital due to "huffing pam" (breathing fumes in order to get high).

A girl tells a guy that he's "not as stoned as he seems" (it is implied he has just finished having drugs).

A young man's drunk father beats his son (it is only mentioned and we do not see it happening, but we do see the results on his son's body).

This movie's main themes are satanism, murder, and criminal acts in general. The general feel is crude and menacing. Some scenes are fairly violent, disturbing, and/or intense.

A ritual depicts young people offering their blood to Satan and this will disturb Christians.

Animal violence is seen and mentioned. A guy kills a cat and bites a dead frog's head off. The first one is especially upsetting to watch.

An intense scene where a guy asks an old man to shoot him.
