After forty years of service, the proud and highly decorated Greek Army officer, General Labros Dekavallas, finds himself struggling to make ends meet. Impecunious but fiercely honest, the patriotic former military man receives the news that the Nation is about to immortalise him for his valour on the battlefield by building a public memorial monument in the centre of the small square in front of his house. Ecstatic, silver-haired Labros starts making all the necessary preparations, unbeknownst to him, however, that his betrothed daughter, Popi, has some serious problems of her own, and above all, that an unscrupulous duo is planning to make a profit behind his back. Now, the retired war-hero has to engage in one last battle. Will the gallant veteran teach the wrongdoers a lesson in respect?
