Come Up Smiling (1939)

An act in a carnival show is made up of Barney O'Hara (played by Will Mahoney) his daughter Pat (played by Shirley Ann Richards) and Horace Worthington Howard (played by Sidney Wheeler). When Pat gets a big break to show of her sing talents, her voice fails. A voice specialist advises that Pat needs an expensive operation. With little money, O'Hara agrees to to boxing match against "The Killer" (played by Alec Kellaway). When the big day arrives, ants are put into O'Hara's shorts, which for some reason help him win the match; enabling O'Hara to pay for Pat's operation.
