Maria Papoila (1937)

A young peasant, Maria Papoila runs away one day to Lisbon, where she finds a job as a chambermaid. There she meets a soldier, number 29, with whom she becomes infatuated, not knowing that he is Eduardo da Silveira, a young man of good family who hangs around with her just for fun.
