1941. It was a year of heavy and intense fighting on the Leningrad front. A strong comradely bond helped the fighters in difficult moments of fierce battles. A deep military friendship connected the machine gunner Arkadiy Dzyubin, a welder from Odessa, with the Ural steelmaker Sasha Svintsov. But one day the friends had a serious quarrel.
