The Magnificent Ambersons (1942)

The Amberson family, once the wealthiest in their Midwestern town, sees their fortune and legacy unravel due to pride and misjudgments. Isabel Amberson rejects her true love, Eugene Morgan, after a public embarrassment and marries Wilbur Minafer, a man she doesn’t love. Their only child, George, grows up spoiled and entitled. When years later Eugene returns to reclaim his love, he clashes with George, threatening to destroy what little fortune the family preserves.
