Tyrannens Fald (1942)

The stout Axel Høegh is a forest knight on the Troldborg estate in South Zealand, where he lives with his daughter Anne, who runs the house, and his son Mogens, who serves as a forest candidate under his father, and who is engaged to a young girl, Ulla Kryger, who is employed at a Copenhagen advertising agency. Ulla's sister, Ida, is married to the Brusque proofreader Viktor Frandsen. The man's modest salary has made running the house a nightmare for the industrious Ida.
