Uma Vida para Dois (1949)

Two young men try to survive in Lisbon, but their talents as writers is not recognized. Their intervention to defend Dionísia from her uncle's harassment is not appreciated by him. As he is the pension's owner, the three are put in the street. The girl returns to her home village; the two friends end up winning a lottery for a life insurance. Their dilemma is who shall be sacrificed for the other to get rich, and get the girl?
