Tokyo Story (1953)

Shukishi and Tomi Hirayama, an elderly couple from a small coastal village in Onomichi, decide to visit their grown children living in bustling Tokyo. Their children, Koichi, a busy doctor, and Shige, a hairdresser, see the visit more as an inconvenience than a family reunion. Despite their parents’ excitement, the children are absorbed in their own lives, leaving Shukishi and Tomi feeling neglected.
