Little Fugitive (1953)

Seven-year-old Joey lives in Brooklyn with his older brother Lennie. On Lennie’s twelfth birthday, his plans to celebrate at Coney Island with friends are canceled when their mother must leave overnight, leaving Lennie in charge of Joey. Frustrated, Lennie and his friends play a cruel prank on him, convincing him he has accidentally shot Lennie. Terrified, Joey runs away to Coney Island, using their mother’s emergency money to explore the attractions.
