I Confess (1953)

In Québec City, Father Michael Logan faces suspicion for the murder of lawyer Villette. The real killer, Otto Keller, a German immigrant and church caretaker, had confessed his crime to Logan after killing Villette during a botched robbery while disguised as a priest. Bound by the seal of confession, Logan cannot reveal Otto’s guilt, even as evidence mounts against him, forcing him to choose between his duty to truth or to silence.
