In this sequel to “Black God, White Devil,” one of Brazil's greatest directors, the founder of Cinema Novo Glauber Rocha, presents Antonio das Mortes 29 years later, stumbling through life with no bandits to kill. When he is called to deal with Coirana, his life gains new meaning. But as Antonio das Mortes discovers the man to be a leader to the hopeless and the hungry, he begins to reconsider his feelings towards Coirana and his followers.
