Night of the Living Dead (1968)

A group of strangers take refuge in an abandoned house seeking protection from the attack of the living dead, who are looking for human flesh to feed on. Within the group, Ben and Barbara are the most determined to raise a barricade, but as they become more and more surrounded, panic prevails and each of them becomes their own doom. Directed by George Romero, this is considered the first zombie film, it spawned a franchise and countless future films within the same genre.
