After winning the grand prize in a contest--a one-week all-expenses-paid trip to Athens--the cheerful merchant, Grigoris Mavrofridis, arrives in the bustling capital, only to find himself in the middle of a dangerous and volatile situation. By an unwelcome twist of fate, the members of two rival smuggling rings are convinced that Grigoris is the mysterious liaison known only as Polidoros--the man entrusted with the important and lucrative task of delivering an ancient statue of inestimable cultural value to an extremely rich collector.
