The Teacher Was One Hell of a Man (1970)

Evlabios Mandekas, the conscientious school teacher of a small village somewhere in the rugged and mountainous landscapes of Peloponnese, is a man with a heart of gold who is always willing to help those in need. In desperate need of a new school, Evlabios' wish will soon get granted, when he saves from certain death the affluent factory owner, Babis Hanos--who, forever indebted to his selfless saviour--promises to repay the community. However, when the days turn into weeks, which turn into months, Evlabios will decide to pay the village's reluctant benefactor a visit in his Athenian mansion, to learn firsthand Babis' intentions. Will he keep his promise?
