Lysistrata (1972)

With the city-states of Athens and Sparta clashing for the hegemony of the ancient Greek world during the Peloponnesian War, the Athenian women, led by idealistic Lysistrata, take matters into their own hands. As a result, tired of their husbands' neglectful behaviour and their obsession with never-ending battles, the abandoned wives declare complete abstinence from sexual activity until men come to their senses and make peace. Meanwhile, equally frustrated with their spouses' absence, the courageous Spartan women join forces with the determined Athenians, welcoming the idea. Led by the statuesque Labito, they, too, take an oath of celibacy, demanding a truce between the warring factions. For everyone's sake, will their bold plan pave the way for a brighter future?
