Far from Home (1972)

Stefanos, an idealist young medical practitioner, has decided to follow in Gerasimos' footsteps, a humanitarian doctor and his grandfather. After finishing his studies in the United States, Stefanos, and his mother, return to Gerasimos' village, eager to contribute to the small community. There, Stefanos falls in love with the village's schoolteacher, Gianna, unbeknownst to them that well-hidden secrets threaten their relationship. Can Stefanos and Gianna find happiness?
