I Loved a Bum (1971)

Unable to forgive himself and come to terms with the untimely demise of his wife and child, the distinguished cardiothoracic surgeon, Alekos Raisis, decides to put an end to his otherwise brilliant career. Now, wandering the silent Athenian night streets, Alekos has become a cynical vagabond, drowning his sorrows and systematically destroying his life. In the meantime, the impecunious but bright-eyed medical student, Dora, is working as a singer at a nightclub, and as one thing leads to another, she finds herself falling in love with the sad, mysterious drifter. Now, Dora is bent on helping Alekos re-evaluate his life, forgive himself, and, eventually, get back on his feet. Can Dora's love save Alekos?
