Gaston Fromageot, the son of the lawyer Fromageot is in love with Brigitte , the daughter of the baroness.This night , the priest, the lawyer and Gaston have arrived at the house of the baroness who asks them why they have comer so late in the night, the lawyer then speaks about the restoration of the bell tower.They show her a document, she needs her glasses and sends Gaston who goes to the room of Brigitte asking her for a kiss.After giving a kiss, Brigitte decides to discourage Gaston speaking about her lover , a crooner who lives in Paris.Gaston returns to the living room and proposes the baroness to help her to have a fund-raising gala for the restoration of the bell tower: the baroness lends him 300.000 francs for the contracts of the singing artists who will take part in the gala.
