Kidnapping in Crete (1951)

On August 20, 1950, the then-twenty-year-old Cretan woman, Tasoula Petrakogiorgi, summoned up the courage to elope with her thirty-four-year-old compatriot, Kostas Kefalogiannis. The movie depicts their forbidden clandestine affair, and young Tasoula's kidnapping by Kostas; a controversial case that galvanised the Greek public opinion.
