Poverty, Love and Tricks (1956)

Without a care in the world, the perpetually impecunious roommates and bosom friends, Pavlakis and Markos, have no plans for the future. Facing eviction, as the boys are already thirteen months behind in the rent, the jobless duo of slackers tries every trick in the book to evade their landlady, who, in turn, does her best to provide for her beautiful niece. In the meantime, the young woman has an affair with a handsome but stony-broke tenant, who, even though he is a lawyer, he can't afford to get married. Then, everything changes when Pavlakis and Markos accept a lucrative proposition and travel all the way to exotic India to retrieve precious jewels. Will this secret mission mark the beginning of a bright new life for everyone?
