A nagy fejedelem (1998)

Small hungarian town with its ambitious mayor is preparing to inaugurate a statue of the great monarch, whose story was digged out from the past by the work of a life of the famous historian. But the preparations are disrupted by the archivist, who proves with an indisputable document that the truth about the monarch very different than the ceremony suggests. The scientist confronts the facts, and on the verge of madness, he decides according to his conscience: blows up the statue with some dynamite. But it's not going to happen on the way he planned.
