The Sweetest Gift (1998)

A child attempts to walk across a narrow pipe over a canal, following his siblings, his little dog jumps in water to follow him, and is eaten by an alligator. There is no violence shown, only the little dog is gone.

The two young boys in the film go to a canal to throw rotten duck eggs at alligators. They do not realize Sugar, a pet nanny goat, is following them. Sugar ends up in the canal and an alligator is going after her. The boys desperately try to get Sugar out of the canal. They succeed to pull Sugar out, before she meets the same fate as the little dog in the beginning of the movie.
