A singer cancels her concert in Cassis ;her manager asks a beginner,our hero,Amédée,to replace her ;on his way to Cassis town (near Marseille),he meets a group of young tourists ,a peasant with his donkey-drawn cart,a country priest,a wealthy graybeard who falls for guitar-strumming Cigale ,who happens to be the female singer who called it a day to have a vacation.
