Jagran (1936)

A melodrama about unemployment. Blackmailer Rasik (Nayampalli) is pitted against the good deads of Prof. Ramanand, who opens an ashram for the unemployed. The struggles of hero Narayan (Yagnik) and heroine Kokila (Rama Rau) and their tales of sacrifice and starvation before they are untied in the ashram, make up the bulk of the narrative.
