The Soul of Bronze (1921)

Losing his fiancée, Nanette, to Capt. Duval Van Jean of the French Army, Jacques, an engineer in a large gun factory, cannot contain his jealousy. In the same factory the officer is overseeing the construction of a cannon of his own invention, and on the day of its casting Jacques secretly causes him to fall into the molten bronze. War breaks out on the next day, Jacques enters the service of his country, and he survives many bloody battles.
