A Very Old Story (1968)

A poor wandering puppeteer is giving a performance at a roadside inn. Satisfied spectators applaud, and the innkeeper tells his daughter to feed the artist to his fill. The puppeteer and the innkeeper's daughter are in love with each other and are about to run off at dawn. At night, when there is not a single visitor left in the tavern, the puppeteer is left alone, and his puppets come to life.
