Tamerau nakare wakodo yo (1935)

In Hara Setsuko's silver screen debut, which also determined her professional name going forward, a small and countryside town has a stationary store run by a mother. She has a pretty daughter, which attracts many children to the store. The business is not good, however, so she has to borrow money, which she soon cannot return. With the loan overdue, the lender demands either his money or, as an alternative, suggests the daughter marries his son. Several students decide to meet the lender to discuss the daughter.
