The Bitter Beloved (1965)

Against all odds, Tonis, the idealist son of an unscrupulous industrialist, is madly in love with Maria, the kindly daughter of the factory's gatekeeper. Refusing to give his consent, Tonis' heartless father enlists the help of his ruthless right-hand man, Mitsos, who, blind with hate and jealousy, hatches a sinister plan to destroy the young couple's happiness. Now, as hapless Maria is left all alone to fend for herself, Mitsos has all the time in the world to make her accept his immoral proposal. Will Maria ever escape from the clutches of evil Mitsos?
