String Theory (2004)

String Theory is a look into the lives of Johnny Otis and Zeke, who all want to escape the traps of small town life. They swear and oath "before the gods", to put their friendship before all other things, to save their money, buy a sailboat, and live life on their own terms. Saving money and sharing dreams is easy part. When Otis and Johnny find that they are in love with the same woman, complications arise. Adolescent friendship gives way to the existing forces of class and race. Their relationship is stretched to its limit and each young man faces the consequences for breaking such an oath.
