Wenn die Abendglocken läuten (1930)

The world of the villagers in an alpine town is thrown into turmoil when a group of gypsies enter the village. The wheel of the gypsy wagon was broken and needs to be repaired before they can continue. The mayor shows them distrust and fears theft, they are only allowed to rest outside the village. The village policeman is supposed to keep an eye on them as long as they have to be tolerated, but he is quickly taken by the gypsies' charm. The mayor's son Hans, a blacksmith, offers to help repair the wagon.
