Serseri (1967)

Kazim is a fisherman who lives alone in a hut by the sea and does not like people very much. Emphasizing on how happy it is being alone all his life, he encounters a young woman sitting alone on the beach while returning from fishing one night. When he learns that this woman, who he later realizes is visually impaired, has nowhere to go, he cannot bear to leave her there and brings her to his home.Zeynep and Kazim, who are becoming more and more attached to each other, attract the attention of their neighbors and people begin to spread gossip about them. Kazim is afraid that Zeynep will be influenced by these rumors and leave him, but he is hesitant to reveal his feelings for her because he believes that Zeynep deserves a better life than what he can offer her.One day when they go fishing together, Kazim learns from Zeynep that there is actually a chance for her eyes to be treated. The doctor he sees tells him that a large amount of money is needed to perform this surgery. Kazim does not give up on this and commits robbery to get Zeynep treated.
