Andreas Baader, born in Munich in 1943, was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1977 for fourfold murder and several assassinations. After the failed abduction of the "Landshut" at the airport in Mogadishu, with which the release of 11 RAF prisoners was to be blackmailed, he committed suicide on 18 October 1977 in Stammheim.
