Golden Child (1960)

An original opera and Christmas parable set during the gold rush of 1849. A father, his pregnant wife and their young daughter going to California become lost in a blizzard in the Sierra Nevadas. Freezing and hungry they seek refuge In a fort on Christmas Eve with a horde of greedy, drunken gold miners and a protective Captain John Sutters.
